An armed suspect involved in a standoff with police and SWAT in Upland, California was fatally shot outside of a house that exploded in flames on Monday. The standoff began at 4 p.m. when deputies attempted to serve a search warrant at a residence on Cloverdale Avenue and West 15th Street. The suspect fired shots at the deputies and later barricaded himself inside the house when Upland Police officers arrived on the scene.
A SWAT team was called to the location to help the suspect surrender, and after about six hours, the house erupted in flames. The suspect emerged from the inferno and was shot by law enforcement.
